Summary: different color themes for different desktop elements
                    in user defined theme settings
           Product: systemsettings
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: Ubuntu Packages
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: wishlist
          Priority: NOR
         Component: general
        AssignedTo: unassigned-bugs at kde.org
        ReportedBy: bugzilla at kerridis.de

Version: (using KDE 4.2.2)
OS: Linux
Installed from: Ubuntu Packages

The problem:
Because my notebook's graphics card isn't capable of composite I cannot have a
transparent panel. So at least I want to have a light panel and
semi-transparent widgets (including the folder view applet). The latter is
possible with the "Glassified" theme (though I wonder how because pseudo
transparency isn't supported anymore), and there's a theme called "Atelier"
which has a light grey panel when I use it on my notebook. So I went to the
"Desktop Theme Details" section in the advanced system settings area to combine
different themes (and yes, the desktop design is set to user defined).

Alas what I have in mind isn't possible in the theme details settings. Yes, I
can set the panel design to use the source "Atelier" whereas all other sources
remain "Glassified". But nonetheless I don't get a light grey panel as it is
when I use the whole "Atelier" design, but a dark one.

So I figured out that it has to be the color scheme which also still is set to
"Glassified" that prevents the panel from becoming light grey. And I changed
the color scheme source to "Atelier". Et voilĂ  - the panel turns light grey.
But also all other widgets on the desktop. They remain kind of 10% transparent
but are light grey. Whereas the folder view widget remains semi transparent but
gets a dark font color so I cannot read the text anymore on my dark background
picture.

When I have a dark background I need light/white font color for the text below
the widgets and below the icons in the folder view. But when the widgets have a
light color, which I prefer on a dark background, the font color within the
widgets must be dark (except for the transparent = dark folder view). Which
leads to a dark desktop font color - see the problem?

Expected behaviour:
Design elements of different themes should keep the theme's color scheme. So
when I set e.g. the panel to use another theme it also should use the color
scheme of that other theme.

Alternative:
Third row in the configuration dialog where the user can define the color
scheme for every design element. So that it's possible to e.g. get a desktop
with a dark panel, grey transparent folder view with dark font color,
semi-transparent other widgets with white font and a red kickoff menu or
something like that.

At least a different color scheme for the panel/s and the rest of the widgets
should be choosable because the panel is also treated different in other
configuration things. And whereas the other widgets are capable of pseudo
transparency the panel isn't.
