Just tried with the latest binaries. more or less the same problem.

however spotted something new: sometimes I manage to start application,
sometimes not. 

For example: I logged in, tried to start kopete, it started, after exiting
kopete it never started again. Same with konsole, sometimes I manage to start
it, sometimes not. Seems totally random.
