<div dir="ltr"><div style="font-family:arial,sans-serif;font-size:13px">This is Amanjot Singh, I took part in SoK last year, worked on the project "Global New Document Menu.." ( <a href="http://community.kde.org/GSoC/2012/Ideas#Project:_Global_.22New_document....22_menu" target="_blank">http://community.kde.org/GSoC/2012/Ideas#Project:_Global_.22New_document....22_menu</a> ) under Friedrich W. H. Kossebau. I developed a widget under this project and it is basically a template opener for LibreOffice ( a part of the overall project ), and it is available in my scratch repository at the KDE servers - <a href="http://quickgit.kde.org/?p=scratch%2Fajsingh%2FAmanjotSingh.git" target="_blank">http://quickgit.kde.org/?p=scratch%2Fajsingh%2FAmanjotSingh.git</a></div>
<div style="font-family:arial,sans-serif;font-size:13px"><br></div><div style="font-family:arial,sans-serif;font-size:13px">It isn't fully developed yet, so I wanted to submit a proposal for the same to make it a fully functional and a usable widget.</div>
<div style="font-family:arial,sans-serif;font-size:13px"><br></div><div style="font-family:arial,sans-serif;font-size:13px">The main goal would be improvement of the user interface, the widget uses a file dialog, instead a list of available templates would be developed showing their title, author, date of creation and other information.</div>
<div style="font-family:arial,sans-serif;font-size:13px">Another thing that would be added is a preview button that shows the preview or thumbnail of the files in the list.</div><div style="font-family:arial,sans-serif;font-size:13px">
A standardization of the folder where LibreOffice stores templates would have to made for the widget to work properly on every system.</div><div style="font-family:arial,sans-serif;font-size:13px">After this is developed, the widget will be extended to work with multiple application programs, allowing the user to create and open files and templates of the types not supported or not present in LibreOffice.</div>

Would like to ponder on any more suggestions on the development of the widget and comments on my direction of development. :)</div><div id=":2eo" class="" tabindex="0" style><br></div><div id=":2eo" class="" tabindex="0" style>
Thank you!</div></div></div>
