Howdy,

Today I talked a little bit with Aaron Seigo on IRC about favorites in Kickoff. It all began with me wondering the best way to deal with bug 170605. My initial plan was to simply erase the search box when a favorite was added, but Aaron argued that 'switching the whole context to say "hey, it worked!" is a bit silly'. Even though I agree, I would still like to see some kind of feedback when (successfully) adding a favorite in Kickoff.

Well, now I have thought of a solution that would make me, and hopefully also Mr. Seigo, satisfied. :)
Check this picture and I think you get the idea. The star works in the same way as in the Add widget dialog, and is only shown for the selected item. It provides a simple way to add/remove favorites, and also fixes this feature:
21:31 < aseigo> Mogger: in fact, maybe all app items in search that are also in favourites should show as being favourited? hm.
Furthermore, it is consistent with the Add widget dialog and easily discoverable.

The only problem I see at the moment is the space conflict with the bars for removable storage (old picture; I was too lazy to take a screenshot).

What do you think?

With best regards,
Hans Chen
