revised bug target ;)

hi all ..

i think i'm going to have to revise the bug count target for the 4.3.0
release. there is just no way with the current manpower working on it that
it's going to get down to 300.

i'm continuing to work on some of the more annoying crashers and sniping the
detail level items as they appear, but it's not going to happen without a lot
of help from others on the team.

this is complicated by the fact that most everyone else is really busy on
great _new_ stuff: plasma netbook, the various GSoC projects, etc.

(we've also lost a few people to attrition it seems; Ruphy and Davide both
seem very occupied at the moment)

... and while we have the usual stream of new people most probably don't have
the experience, knowledge of the code base or appetite at this point in their
plasma experience to really dig into the bug reports.

i've thought about it today and i really don't want to distract from the new
work that's happening. it's all too important to mess with, and i'd rather see
more open defect reports at this point if it means we can nail our 4.4
targets.

i'd appreciate help with the bug reports, but please don't let it distract
from the big projects that you are working on. that's more important right
now.

so instead of the previous 300, i'm going to aim for 400 open reports for
4.3.0. i'd be more aggressive with that number, but the rate of new reports is
really astounding right now. i think it's safe to say that the KDE 3 migration
is probably well into the twilight now and most people are using KDE 4.

sometimes you gotta move the goalpoasts a bit to score a goal, right? ;)

p.s. we have a big kde4 deployment coming up; i worked on some fixes for the
people doing it this week. i hope we can share all the juicy details with
everyone soon (it's all hush-hush right now, as usual *sigh*), but it's nice
to see that the to-market uptake of plasma and kde4 stage is in full swing too
...
