</div>You need to walk through the desktop first once so the offscreen pixmaps get<br>
updated (this is what you unchecked with the above option).<br>

</div>No, it's a bug with previews and animations ending up "under" the plasma<br>
"window". That's why I asked to quit plasma and see if that changes anything.</blockquote><div><br>Now that I understand what you're saying, I would agree that this is probably the previously<br>reported bug. I'll include the steps I took just to be safe:<br>
<br>Quitting plasma didn't help. I did the following:<br><br>Unset thumb updates, walk through desktops. This left me with just the window shadows<br>and no dice on the grid and exposé. Then I ran kquitapp plasma. After plasma came back I<br>
still was left with shadows and no preview windows. Minimizing and maximizing windows<br>did not fix this. Using kopete's option to 'minimize' to the tray and dispose the main window,<br>then bringing it back fixed kopete itself, but obviously no other windows. Disabling/reenabling<br>
effects did not bring back the windows.<br> <br>Hopefully those symptoms match exactly.
