so we already have one SoC student looking to propose a mobile device project<br>
for plasma, and today i've received two possible offers for relevant hardware<br>

Plasma is at the point now where it's probably time to really start exploring<br>
it's possibilities on these devices. they pack a good amount of horsepower,<br>
so the initial work will be build env and UI related (such as Nathan<br>
Eckenrode's SoC project proposal).</blockquote><div> </div><div>With regards to that, I would like to hear more about the ideas for fitting Plasma into a UMPC/Touchscreen environment. Personally, I'd like to make some of the controls larger, especially the zoomed out toolbox, but also the windows widgets- oops i may be off on a tangent--I would like to have an onscreen keyboard that is translucent pop up when clicking into text entry fields. That might be a big enough project for the summer, but if some handwriting recognition could be thrown into the fray (Maybe that suddenly throw this into a HUGE project, I dunno) that would be really fun.<br>

to be a ninja, just have poked at some of the code, such as written widget or<br>
dataengine plugins, for example) who would realistically have interest, time<br>

Basically, this is the biggest, firstest project that I am jumping into, and I know that I currently possess very little knowledge. I am here to learn and intern. <br>

easier to convince people to mail hardware off if there's a concrete<br>
project/goal to go along with that) and i'll try to start hooking people up<br>
with the opportunity to play with some (free! =) hardware.<br>
