<br>Above is a screenshot of panel text with a shadow so text can be seen on white desktop backgrounds. My biggest problems with backgrounds on icons is that they aren't the same size. I think the best effect would be to show the background on hover events and when selected. When that does happen, they still should be the same size for the same size icon.<br>
