KWin and plasma's colorscheme

If you guys welcome another perspective, here's mine:

I've been hoping to work on a plasma theme that, at least in part
(dialogs, etc.), looks oxygen-y (I'm not *entirely* alone I don't
think) but was worried that it might conflict with the system colors if
they're different.

What about adding a hint element to plasma svg themes ("hint-use-system-colors" or something similar). If the element exists plasma would paint the svg with system colors (using tinting or whatever). Amarok 2 does something similar if I recall correctly.

Don't worry about accommodating the many different types of svg graphic elements and trying, from plasma's side, to make it look good. Provide one method (tinting or whatever) and let the theme creators deal with making it look good (they're the artists right?). It also allows the theme creator to use system-colors on a per svg basis (e.g. apply system colors just to the dialog-background but not to the panel-background) or not at all.

Something like this would help immensely while allowing other theme authors to make plasma look exactly like they want.

This wouldn't strictly resolve whether boxswitch should use plasma colors or system colors.

Hope this feedback helps.
