cool.. =) welcome to kde development ...

just so you know, plasma is getting pretty crowded as far as developer count 
goes. in the coming months we'll have a lot more for people to do, but right 
now there's a bunch of work that needs to get done that's best done by a 
smaller number of people....

once we have things in place for the new applets to built upon, the language 
bindings, etc, then we'll have lots more to do. this isn't meant to 
discourage you, but just to let you know that the amount of tasks available 
in plasma will be a little slim for the next little while.

september will be a very different story, however.

=) just remember than it's a bit shaky at the moment. for instance, i have to 
restart kdeinit and start kwin manually after each log in to my kde4 env. i 
do this by having an xterm.desktop in my test user's autostart folder.
