Feel free to add yourself to any other projects you'd like to
mentor.

Two notes:
1) even though the scope of GSoC is limited to coding, you can add
documentation projects to the OPW list. It is another contest in which
we are going to participate (http://gnome.org/opw/) and its scope is
not limited to coding.

2) sorry, but I dislike projects of the kind "We need support/love
there", as the one we are proposing for the Calendar app. We should
try to be more clear with the boundaries of the project and, since the
beginning, with what we expect from the student to be accomplished at
the end of the summer. We can still rescue that idea by compiling a
set of well-defined features that we want to add to the Calendar app.

*personal note* I decided to get rid of my 'zimba12' nickname and to
use 'cosenal' everywhere instead. I am in the transition process, so
on IRC you will find me under zimba12 or cosenal. I am going to change
it on github as well.

Alessandro

On Thu, Jan 9, 2014 at 11:19 PM, Thomas Müller <thomas.mueller@tmit.eu> wrote:
> Hi Alessandro,
>
> thanks a lot for taking care about GSoC once again!
>
> Regarding project ideas, I'd like to recommend that we keep the GSoC projects on
> new or existing apps.
>
> We had pretty good success in the past with apps being developed during GSoC
> like news, music, pdf_viewer ....
>
> A student can work on one app pretty isolated and independent of the core.
> Contributions to the core require much more coordination and will take longer.
> In addition the entry boundary for core is much higher.
>
> I had the chance last year to support our GSoC student and I really enjoyed it.
>
> Please consider me as an overall mentor for all GSoC projects this year - I'm happy to help.
>
> I'll add my ideas to the wiki page.
>
> Take care,
>
> Tom
>
>
> Am Donnerstag, den 09.01.2014 um 19:17 schrieb Alessandro Cosentino:
>> Hi,
>>
>> This year ownCloud is applying to GSoC as an independent organization.
>> The first requisite is that we have a list of ideas for projects that
>> are suitable for the contest.
