Hey, and sorry Damien,

no prob ;-)

I’ll very much appreciate help with the website. I did some sketching
which I’m going to refine, digitalize and follow up with later today
hopefully.

It’s basically a very short 1-page intro to ownCloud with links to the
wiki, bugtracker, git etc. for details. Based on the current login site
(with big header).

For everyone: I thought about using this 1-page intro as the homepage for
every ownCloud installation. So that unlike now where there’s just a login
field there’s actually more info. That would be useful:
* If you share a public link and they check out the base address
* If you run a not-strictly personal server, as information
* Some scenarios I haven’t thought about yet

The login will still be on the top right. Essentially something like at
http://joindiaspora.com or http://titanpad.com or lots of other projects.

Let me know what you think!

I would have thought to do a more complete website than just an 1-page with some links.

At least something with :
- a demo of OwnCloud like Aamir suggested
- a presentation of the project (the history, the vision, the goals, ...)
- how to install/use it (maybe with a link to some Userbase articles that still need to be created as Michael told)
- some explanations about how to contribute

In fact the last items are the ones we already have in the wiki (introduction, use owncloud, get involved). The idea will be to present them in a more user-friendly way.

We can add many more things of course ! A integrated CMS to provide some news would be very valuable too for example.
But as the project is quite "young", the goal is to attract some new contributors to make it grow and I think that the previous items are the more important ones with that idea in mind.

Since there is Florian who also want to help with the website, I think this is manageable.

Tell me what you think too.

Damien
