Hey Stefan,

I’m not sure why you have this opinion of our community, and why you answer
via the mailing list. I invited you several times to join us at
#owncloud-design or get started by fixing some design issues at
https://github.com/owncloud/core/issues?labels=Design&page=1&state=open –
haven’t seen you submitting pull requests or joining discussions on IRC. I
thought because you said that you did a theme for Drupal you know how open
source communities work – and we are particularly committed to less talk on
the mailing list and more actual work to improve the software.

Others like Raghu, Kondou, Morris, Guillaume, Hou and more are doing this
and help the project a lot. We are committed to quality for users first,
and backend changes definitely have a lower priority, especially big
refactoring in core.

Please understand that you can’t just come, not care about bugs, and
propose switching everything to Bootstrap as first thing. This is not
Drupal – ownCloud is neither a blogging engine nor has a strong focus on
templating. Before you can spearhead such massive changes we obviously need
to know if you will stick around and can do the simple stuff, the bugfixing
which is so important for better quality.

And about the accusation for »lack of vision«: We wouldn’t be where we are
right now without a community of diverse views and a common thread to unite
them: That we want to be in control of our data, and enable everyone to be
able to do the same.

If you reconsider, just dive in. If not, all the best.
