            Bug ID: 484017
Summary: Yellow highlight and pop-up note color is
(subjectively) too intense, should use a muted color
similar to Plasma's sticky note yellow
    Classification: Applications
           Product: okular
           Version: 24.02.0
          Platform: Arch Linux
                OS: Linux
            Status: REPORTED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: NOR
         Component: general
          Assignee: okular-devel at kde.org
          Reporter: adam.m.fontenot+kde at gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

The Plasma sticky note applet used to use this dreadful harsh RGB-maxed yellow
color as the background: https://i.stack.imgur.com/debL2.png

The color was changed to a vastly superior color that's similar to that of a
real sticky note:

I propose we move away from using this color on highlights and pop-up notes in
Okular by default. The default color stops for a yellow sticky note set by
Plasma appear to be #f7eabf, #f9eecd. Something in that range might be
appropriate.

One potential option is to make the pop-up note background less intense than
the highlighter color, since they essentially serve different purposes. We
could go with the sticky note color for Okular's popup notes, and something a
little brighter for the highlighter (but still less intense than what we have
now).

VDG input would probably be helpful here.
