Feature Request: make annotation stuck

Thanks. Yes that indeed works in the newest Okular. I was using Okular on
ubuntu 20.04 which is version 1.9.3 and does not have that feature. Thank
you for pointing it out.

I could not switch to the new Okular because another key feature was
missing: General Options --> Open new files in tabs. I tried this about 1
year ago and just tried it again. Any new PDF will open a new Okular
window(instead of tab) when I click in my file manager. The tab only works
when I choose File-Open. In old Okular, I can open a PDF from anywhere
externally and they will be put into tabs under one Okular. It's probably
already reported as a bug at https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=434777

In my opinion this is a real bug, we all have multiple PDFs open at the
same time, and nobody wants to have multiple windows laying around. All
other PDF viewers can do tabs well, and this feature is just essential.

Hi Gordon,
the feature you are requesting already exists.

To activate it:
1. Show the annotation toolbar by selecting Settings > Annotations
2. Click on the "pin" icon with the tooltip "Keep the annotation tool
active after use"

Bye
