I have moved this to frameworks-kio as it's an IO issue not specifically an
Okular one.

is relevant as it describes the same behaviour which has appeared in Linux
using an older kernel. The package version, 5.88.0 doesn't match those offered
above so I can't Identify the actual version where this began at present. I
also do not have easy access to an older kernel for testing.

It looks as if there could be a regression in frameworks-kio which is masked by
newer Linux kernels but prevents proper moving of files across file systems
with older Linux kernels, as well as Windows and Mac ones. Hope this moves the
search on a bit in identifying the problem.
