I want to second this. Okular is the only software I know in which the tab
sizes vary significantly, which doesn't make a lot of sense. If there is a few
tabs open, it is really hard to read which is which since, some tabs are
extremely small (see screenshot).

Evenly distributed space between all tabs should be the obvious choice here.
