Just as I made an assumption about "most people", you do the same :) We really don't know what our fellow users want and need, to be sure. But it might be a reasonable guess that those of us who use Neon, this non-distro, do so because of it having the latest official version of Plasma available to us as soon as it is released, and it is possibly more likely that newness of other software may be of value to many of us.

I personally would rather have a less complicated setup, and I cannot imagine having to faff with having two Qt installs, and (possibly) having to go through hoops making something I may install from a third party or compile myself use a particular version. I imagine those who use Neon for development would have the same issues.

I have only come across a small number since the User Edition was released, both from personal use and anecdotally via support forums. I don't think the developers would make this change to the setup even if there were a large number, as their focus and support solely is on Plasma and software from KDE
