Hi Dennis,
I tried the --enableFile parameter in version 1.5 and it does show what is in the file structure in the KML but none of the placemarks are showing up. Will try a newer version but i think i may have to build it on Linux. Attached is the KMZ file i used, if you want to try. The placemaks used can be changed if you have a better suggestion of making placemarks show up. This is for a geothermal project in Texas. Thanks for your quick reply and help,

version 1.5 is a bit outdated, KML support is ever improving. [1] gives
an idea what KML features are supported in it. There's a "Files" view in
Marble you can use to investigate which parts of a KML file Marble
understood. In Marble 1.5 you need to start Marble using the
--enableFileView parameter to see it. Newer versions use panels and the
Settings menu has a convenient "Files" panel menu entry you can use to
reveal it. KML files opened are shown there among other internal files
and you'll get an outline of their structure.
Feel free to post the KML files you were loading (or links to them if
they can be found online) to get a more specific answer.

Regards,
