<html><head></head><body><div class="yahoo-style-wrap" style="font-family:arial;font-size:16px;"><div dir="ltr" data-setdir="false"><div><div>Hello at kate editor,</div><div><br></div><div>Here are some suggestions and minor bugs for Kate editor</div><div><br></div><div>- You will lose one several days trying to find in Settings to setup the width of this small magnifier window at theright. How actually it is called and where ar esettings for it? Was it difficult to add settings for it with the picture? This is kind of main Kate signature distinctive feature!</div><div><br></div><div>- If you 1) click on some place in small magnifier window at the right, Kate gets you into this place in the main text window. Nice. But if your next step after click is 2) push Up/Down or PgUp/PgDown key to scroll this text in main window more precisely where you need, the text will jump to previous position where cursor was initially ( miles away ). You need after 1) do one more useless step by clicking on the text in main window to land the cursor there and only then do 3). This one more step has absolutely no sense.</div><div><br></div><div>- It has no text line numbering inside the small info (magnifier) window. This is making it almost useless.</div><div>- If you by mistake or just miss-hit push Ctrl+C instead of Ctrl+V, the Ctrl+C will zeroise your clipboard content despite nothing was selected to justify Ctrl+C destroying clipboard. Why it is trying to save something when there is nothing to save there, at the cursor position nothing was highlighted?!! All other editors are smarter here and just ignore Ctrl+C if nothing was higjhlighted</div><div><br></div><div dir="ltr" data-setdir="false">- In Search there is no easily accessible 'full words' option (radiobutton or button) anywhere in the visible window. Actually it is absent anywhere else too. This is trully un-be-lievable! It may exist but i could not find it in a year</div><div><br></div><div>- No option to search for words for several files representing the same project, only withing one tab</div><div><br></div><div>- If the file was edited, the tab will be marked with special image on it -- which is great -- but bad is that the color of this image makes it almost not noticeable. It is darker gray image on lighter gray tab. Make mark red for visibility, it is important notification.</div><div><br></div><div>- When you highlight the tex Kate does not tell you how many symbols there</div><div><br></div><div>- Kate has no tab which automatically works like a saver of everything which fall into clipboard. Very pity. </div><div><br></div><div>- When you write Kate developers some suggestions -- it's like writing into space or black hole: no confirmationa that you have sent anything. This is great editor and deserves specific forum where you can discuss the bugs and suggestions. You invite to KDE. I can scientifically guess that 99% people do not care about KDE :) though i may switch to it some day but not now</div><div><br>- Kate Help at <a href="https://kate-editor.org/support/" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">https://kate-editor.org/support/</a> tells you to subscribe or write to kwrite-devel@kde.org. When you click on the link it opwn Thunderbird. WHat more stupid could be here? 99% people do not us Thunderburd and have no clue what it is.</div><div>Othewise it is greatest editor</div><div><br></div><div>Please confirm</div><div><br></div><div>Thanks</div><div><br></div><div>Dan</div></div><br></div><div dir="ltr" data-setdir="false">P.S.This is my third or fourth email in a year.<br></div><div dir="ltr" data-setdir="false">No feedback from Kate whatsoever.</div></div></body></html>
