<p>I think to get the "default font", you need to call KateRendererConfig::global()->font() instead of using a default constructed QFont. That should return the font configured in the KTextEditor settings.</p>

<p>For the shortcut: I guess you should use KStandardShortcut::ActualSize().</p>
