  This just doesn't sound healthy. In analog, practically there is no "in"  
or "out", but for digital circuits, an output shoudn't "sense" anything.  
In my opinion, it would be better, to get overrated (too much current  
through it).

  Should be fairly easy to create a subcircuit for it.
