I started futzing about with the QT GUI builder to try to make my matrix
viewer. I couldn't figure out how use the layout engine though... My
only previous experience was with the much more extensive suite of tools
for Borland C++ builder.

I'm more of an engine guy than a UI guy.

All but the most basic inf0z about semiconductors is very expensive.
Most of the inf0z google returns is in the form of abstracts for very
expensive papers. The rest is sketchy and of questionable validity.

I found a book that looks like it covers what I need but, again, it is
very expensive. I think my priority will be getting the matrix viewer
running in order to facilitate the inspection and debugging of all the
stuff that is adiquately described in the textbooks I have on hand.
