One aspect of the renderer proposal involves making plugins out of the 
KstBaseCurve class.  As Adam has pointed out, this is different from what he 
is working on.

| I was not aware of this proposal and from what I can tell, no it is not the
| same thing.  The idea here is to replace the C style plugins that Kst
| currently uses with a more traditional KDE plugin infrastructure.  This
| will allow plugins to take advantage of the API as well as to present their
| own dialogs.
