<FONT COLOR="#000000">I've now got a good library which easily will help me save EXIF information in </FONT>
<FONT COLOR="#000000">files, so I guess its time to fullfill one of the oldest wishlist items for </FONT>
<FONT COLOR="#000000">KimDaBa, namely saving information into the images.</FONT>
<FONT COLOR="#000000">So where do you all want category information written? Does any other </FONT>
<FONT COLOR="#000000">application you use, read category information from a specific EXIF field? or </FONT>
<FONT COLOR="#000000">should it just be put into the description field?</FONT>
<FONT COLOR="#000000">And for the rest of you: Dont worry, this will require explicit asking for it </FONT>

Actually to add information to the images the recommended approach is to use IPTC. Other cataloging applications (Picasa, Photoshop Elements 4, IMatch, ...) put their categorization into IPTC keywords. When uploading to Flickr IPTC keywords are converted into tags, so no more repeating the categorization process when you go online (btw I have a script that uploads to Flickr with tags taken from Kimdaba category information, if someone is interested drop me a note).<BR>

There are some good IPTC libraries out there, you should give it a try (as far as I know, some EXIF libraries support IPTC too)<BR>
