I think i got the problem, and i managed to add avatars.

For some weird reason when i open for example "file.png" in the path /tmp/. the
dialog box will try to list "/tmp/file.png/" and will show that error.

If i manually type the filename and i press return, without using the mouse,
then the file will be opened.
