gtalk protocol has buddy pictures working ok. but on yahoo yet no go, also I keep getting kopete(3116)/libkopete Kopete::AvatarManager::add: Saving of  "/home/cuci/.kdesvn/share/apps/kopete/avatars/Contacts/MYACCOUNT/buddy.png"  failed !
in ~/.xsession-errors. And are you sure yahoo uses pngs not jpg?
