That is why this --background-mode option was introduced. See comment #3.<br>

A feature receiving almost zero bug reports is either perfect, or is something nobody uses .  Based upon my above observation of its problems, I really think the latter explanation looks more convincing.<br>

All in all, I feel that option is more like a trick or demonstration of  "we can also do what yakuake does. well, kind of", other than a well-designed and mature feature. Although I have not got any statistics, I really doubt how many users really like, use or even know about that feature.<br>
