Hello everyone,<div><br></div><div>Thank you in advance. I have googled for days. But still could not find a way. This is my last resort.</div><div>The result of my googling and experiment is as following:</div><div><br></div>
<div>(1)<br><div><div>I know in KDE4.0 I could do like:</div><div><span style="background-color:rgb(192,192,192)">konsole --profile "/home/mark/konsole/old.profile"</span></div><div><span style="background-color:rgb(192,192,192)"><br>
</span></div><div><span style="background-color:rgb(255,255,255)">It works.</span></div><div><br></div><div>But in KDE3.5 when I do:</div><div><span style="background-color:rgb(192,192,192)">konsole --profile /afs/<a href="http://cad.njit.edu/u/g/l/gl52/konsole/F3.profile">cad.njit.edu/u/g/l/gl52/konsole/F3.profile</a></span></div>
<div><br></div><div>It does not work. The profile could not be found. konsole just uses its default profile.</div><div>How can make this work? Is there a way to specify the path?</div><div><br></div><div>(2)</div><div>For now, I put symbolic links in the default profile directory as a workaround:</div>
<div><br></div><div><div><span style="background-color:rgb(192,192,192)">osl2-45 profiles>: pwd</span></div><div><span style="background-color:rgb(192,192,192)">/afs/<a href="http://cad.njit.edu/u/g/l/gl52/.kde/share/apps/konsole/profiles">cad.njit.edu/u/g/l/gl52/.kde/share/apps/konsole/profiles</a></span></div>
</div><div><br></div><div><div><span style="background-color:rgb(192,192,192)">osl2-44 profiles>: ll</span></div></div><div><div><span style="background-color:rgb(192,192,192)">lrwxr-xr-x 1 gl52 afs 39 Mar 19 17:14 F1 -> /afs/<a href="http://cad.njit.edu/u/g/l/gl52/konsole/F1">cad.njit.edu/u/g/l/gl52/konsole/F1</a></span></div>
<div><span style="background-color:rgb(192,192,192)">lrwxr-xr-x 1 gl52 afs 39 Mar 19 17:14 F2 -> /afs/<a href="http://cad.njit.edu/u/g/l/gl52/konsole/F2">cad.njit.edu/u/g/l/gl52/konsole/F2</a></span></div></div><div>
<br></div><div>And invoke konsole like:</div><div><span style="background-color:rgb(192,192,192)">osl2-45 profiles>: konsole --profile F2</span></div><div><br></div><div>This could work.</div><div><br></div><div>(3)</div>
<div>Another thought: Can I change the default profile directory of konsole?</div><div>I did not find the default path hard coded in the konsole program by trying this:</div><div><div><span style="background-color:rgb(192,192,192)">osl2-47 profiles>: strings /usr/bin/konsole | grep profiles</span></div>
<div><span style="background-color:rgb(192,192,192)">osl2-48 profiles>: </span></div></div><div><br></div><div>I checked the config file: /afs/<a href="http://cad.njit.edu/u/g/l/gl52/.kde/share/config/konsolerc">cad.njit.edu/u/g/l/gl52/.kde/share/config/konsolerc</a></div>
<div>Nothing related found.</div><div><br></div><div><br></div>-- <br><div>Best Regards,</div>
