Is this still an issue?  If so, can you verify that your new profile shows up
in 'qdbus $KONSOLE_DBUS_SERVICE /Windows/1 profileList' ?  

also you can shorten the command to 'qdbus $KONSOLE_DBUS_SERVICE
$KONSOLE_DBUS_SESSION setProfile Base'
