hm, if I start with a clean session, then just splitting either way works, but
both ways doesn't.
So:
Ctrl+(
Ctrl+) ← it's borked at this moment
Ctrl+d works, but depending on which screen is selected might leave an empty
view behind.

The other way fails as well:
Ctrl+)
Ctrl+( ← borked

The problem, where it's bugged even on a single split doesn't seem to repeat
always, I've only triggered that twice.
So not yet sure how to trigger that reliably.
