Can you see my comment #17 as well about setting the DISPLAY variable before
running strace?

When running 'mount' from the Linux terminal, do you see an entry like:

devpts on /dev/pts type devpts (rw,noexec,nosuid,gid=5,mode=620)

If not, does running 'sudo mount devpts' help?
