<!DOCTYPE html><html><head><title></title></head><body><div>Good morning everyone</div><div><br></div><div>I've been using KMyMoney for about 15 years (!!!) I think, mostly to keep track of transactions on checking accounts, in the very beginning doing a lot of the entry manually, and then mostly using csv imports. Wonderful!</div><div><br></div><div>I'm on MacOS, and yesterday, I had another look at the available builds, and I ended up moving from 5.1.3-7ef4c2d to 5.1.80-7f2c37e.</div><div><br></div><div>When I first ran the new version, I ran into the problem that is described in this bug report (<a href="https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?format=multiple&id=473223" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?format=multiple&id=473223</a>), and I only saw about 10% of my transactions. Seeing that the file was not truncated and still worked in the older version of KMyMoney, I did a check with xmllint, and I ended up fixing the file like this:</div><div><br></div><blockquote type="cite"><div><i>tr -d '\000' < bad.xml > fixed.xml</i></div></blockquote><div><br></div><div>It took me a while to figure this out, but I learned a lot about working with these files from the bug report I just linked to... And I'm glad that there was no catastrophic file corruption and that KMyMoney keeps a lot of backup files anyway!</div><div><br></div><div>Anyway, after getting over that bump, everything is working great.</div><div><br></div><div>It seems like the settings screen is not available, or available but empty, until minutes after the program has launched. I could provide more diagnostics, but since this does not stop me from accessing the settings, and because maybe this problem has been fixed in later versions, I won't...</div><div><br></div><div>There's a setting now to 'hide accounts with a zero balance'. Is this setting meant to also apply to the Home view? Because for me, it doesn't, and those zero balance accounts are still shown there... It would be a cleaner look if I could hide those.</div><div><br></div><div>And finally, <a href="https://kmymoney.org/macos.html" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">https://kmymoney.org/macos.html</a> describes the current status of KMyMoney on MacOS. I'm definitely not qualified to help out here, and I don't really need any of the 5.2 features, but I was wondering whether there's anywhere where I can read up on whether further mac builds are planned? Or in other words: are we hoping for the right person to come along to make new builds, or is there a technical blocker that means that this may be a dead end?</div><div><br></div><div>Best regards</div><div><br></div><div>Mike</div><div><br></div><div>PS: just sent 10 euro to KDE, since there doesn't seem to be a KMM specific donation page</div></body></html>
