problem and it went away by itself. It started failing again last
week. It seemed to be accessing the URL which failed. It is very
likely not a problem with kmymoney but with the URL request. How
can I track down what the problem is and/or find a solution to
automatic stock price updates?

The update source I am using, for example, generates the URL
<a class="moz-txt-link-freetext" href="https://query1.finance.yahoo.com/v7/finance/quote?fields=regularMarketPrice&symbols=BMY">https://query1.finance.yahoo.com/v7/finance/quote?fields=regularMarketPrice&symbols=BMY</a>
and trying to access this URL in a browser returns the following:

finance

result null

code "Unauthorized"

description "Invalid Crumb"
