and aqbanking provide two different ways of importing OFX/QFX
files. (I don't know the exact history, but KBanking is the term
used to enable the aqbanking library.) Personally, I find the
libOFX simpler to configure, although I believe aqbanking has
additional features.

So, in your case, it is not an intentional change in process, but
it's certainly an acceptable workaround.

I still have no idea why the KMyMoney OFX (using libOFX) import
isn't showing up. In the configure plugins dialog, all plugins on
the list are generally checked, I'm not sure why any one would not
be, although in your case, a checked one is apparently not
working.

One more thing that might provide more information. If you run
kmymoney from a command line, is there any output that might be
relevant? It usually says something about the plugins it finds
and loads.

The import option is available, but the only choices that I see
there are QIF, gnucash, CSV and account template.

As far as the plugins, I have "KMyMoney OFX" selected. I just
noticed that if I select the plugin "KBanking", that I then get
another option under the Import menu. It gives me "AquaBanking
Importer" and I see that from that option I am able to select my
"QFX" file and import it correctly.
It that the new way to do it?

I have never had to do it that way in the past.

Today I noticed that I no longer have the option available
to import a QFX file into my accounts. This has worked for
me in the past, but for some reason the option has
disappeared.
Has this feature been removed from KMyMoney, or is it
something with my distro's package?

I'm running KMyMoney version 4.8.0 , libofx version 0.9.11-1
and aqbanking version 5.6.12-2 on Arch Linux.

It "should" still work, nothing was removed in this area. I
no longer run Arch, so I can't check directly, but they are
usually pretty good with their packaging, and those seem like
recent versions. In addition, since they list those two
libraries as dependencies, it is unlikely they didn't select
them at configure time. Finally, since that package wasn't
updated since last November, it seems unlikely to be a
packaging issue. So - we need to look at configuration or
other possible causes.

Do you get any errors, or is it just that the import option is
no longer present? What are the listed options when you click
on the Import menu? Also, when you select the menu
Settings/Configure KMyMoney... and select the last icon on the
left (at the bottom) Plugins, which import plugins do you see
listed?
