Hi maillist!

Is it possible to use variables or equations in transactions such as for the following scenario:

Lets say I want a recurring bill transaction (monthly) to be set as a certain percentage of the balance of an account. The perfect example would be for the interests on a line of credit. The balance of the LOC changes very often. Because of that, loan repayment transactions are simply not applicable because they use amortization to calculate the payment so the loan decreases linearly. The possibility to use variables or equations in scheduled transactions would be nice to track and enter the interest charges I incur on the balance of the LOC.

So when the scheduled transaction is due (lets assume last day of each month), KMM would calculate the amount due by charging a percentage of the LOC's balance.

Its more a feature request than anything else. It would be nice to be able to enter variables or equations instead of a simple number. For example, 0.02*Account_1 which would be 2% of Account's 1 balance. Accounts and other categories would need to have their internal variables.

Anybody else agrees it would simplify things?

Thanks!
