I'm having problems importing stock purchases
via OFX files that seems to have developed over the past month
or so.

I am running very recently compiled versions
of KMM from both the 5.2 and the master branches.

I have 3 different accounts at the same
broker. On June 11 and June 13 I have 3 purchases of the same
stock that were imported correctly. Each imported transaction
recognized that it was the same security so that the balance
increased by the number of addition shares I purchased with each
transaction. This happened as expected so I'm mostly assuming
what happened since it was unremarkable at the time.

One thing that appears to be different than
the previous version of KMM is that it was not added to the
Update Stock Prices, at least it was not there when I just
checked.

In the other 2 accounts, I purchased the
exact same stock, also 3 separate purchases for each account.
The first purchase in one of the accounts was in mid June, the
other 5 were is very late July and August.

Every time I import the OFX file the New
Investment Wizard opens and ask me the enter the details on the
second screen (security details). Almost all fields are blank
until I start typing the symbol. After 2 letters it fills the
rest in. If I cancel this process, the rest of the import is
also canceled. If I continue, it creates the transaction and
adds an identical security to my investments for this account.
This happens for each transaction of the same stock. After
adding the 3 to each account there were 3 identical entries in
the Investments/Equities tab. Each one was also handled
separately in the ledger so that the last purchase only showed
the Balance of the shares for that purchase.

I corrected this by copying the first
purchase twice and modifying the details of the second and third
transactions and deleting the imported transactions. After doing
this, the balance of shares was correct. I deleted the no longer
used entries in the Investments/Equities
tab. None of the shares were
updating the stock price so I edited each and turned on Yahoo
Finance for each. After doing this I had 3 separate entries in
the Update Stock window. In the past when I had the same
security in more than one account I only had one entry in the
update stock window.

I appears that KMM is not recognizing
identical imported securities in the same account nor across
accounts. I always assumed once I imported a stock into any
account KMM always recognized that stock in all other accounts.

I always rename stocks after I purchase them
with [SYMBOL] at the beginning of each name so that they appear
at the top of the Investments/Equities
tab. I have many dozens of CDs in there that make it hard to
find the stocks and this eliminates that problem. I don't think
this is the cause of the problem because it happens before I can
rename them when there is more than one transaction in the OFX
file but I mention it just in case.

This is making KMM pretty useless for me
since the import stops if I cancel the stock import so I don't
get anything imported. I have to filter by date to get the other
transactions without the stock purchases which requires several
imports to skip over the stock transactions.
