The current krita.org website is a wordpress website and as such the
translations are part of the wordpress system. It requires us to
manually approve each translator, something we ourselves aren't happy
about.

We are currently working on moving our website to hugo, which should
enable translations via the KDE localization system, however, the
website move has not yet happened. We're tracking the work on the new
website here: https://phabricator.kde.org/T14731 and the test website
is at https://dev.krita.org/en/

I hope this helps, I'm also sending this reply to the kimageshop (very
old name for Krita) mailinglist, so others may chime in.
