Crash on creating adjustment layer

Crashed a bit later here, actually. But still, should be fixed, I hope. Let 
this be a lesson for all the C-cast lovers here ;-) (*looks at Cyrille* :P).

But DO note that adding a 'zero-effect' on a 'zero-effect' Brightness/Contrast 
adjustment layer, on a white layer, gives me a _black_ layer, not white! So 
there is still work to do :-(
