Sadly, this isn't feasible for myself (and probably many users), as we have
different folders all over our drive.

The issue needs to be resolved by upstream KDE. :(

It's a matter of waiting now? I'm not even sure if this is being worked on. It
used to work on earlier versions of KDE, until it was "fixed", and now we have
our thumbnails on encrypted drives constantly being regenerated every time
which costs time and CPU.
