I investigated this issue further. It also occurs under the Breeze theme.
Whether the issue occurs seems to depend on the font size. The issue occurs on
font size 10, but not 11. I tried the fonts "Open Sans", "Free Sans", "Noto
Sans", and "DejaVu Sans". I configure the theme with qt5ct.
