Waooo!! please forgive my ignorance, the problem was that libtool was missing on my system.<BR>
By the way... there should be dependencies between KDevelop and libtool, maybe ./configure should test for libtool...<BR>

In my distribution (debian), libtool is a separate package from automake and
autoconf. Have you checked that libtool is installed?</I></FONT></PRE>
