If i understand it right, this would bring Gnome dialog on Gnome or OSX native dialog on OSX. If that so, we need to check every possible outcome of calling QFileDialog and find out cases in which we are stuck, like with Windows.</li>
<li style="padding: 0;text-rendering: inherit;margin: 0;line-height: inherit;white-space: normal;">I've done some googling on Windows native dialog. It doesn't support mode desired by us since Vista and there were no changes since then. So, nothing can be fixed even on the Qt side.</li>

I think there must be quite a few situations (not even on "other" platforms) in which that variable is typically not set and one would still appreciate to get the KDE file dialog.</p></pre>

The previous change to the open project dialog broke the (important) option to open a directory as a project. This fixes that through introduction of an extra step: you select the method you want to open your project with first. This has the advantage of making it more clear to the user what the options are; many users are still not aware you can simply tell KDevelop to open a folder as a project.</p>
