  I'm using KDevelop on FreeBSD and Windows, and these platforms should be on the same boat with OSX - FreeBSD doesn't have kernel API to monitor directory changes, and on Windows I also see KDirWatcher being slow (in Debug build though). But I haven't extensively used KDevelop for a while now.
