Subject: KDevelop takes a break when switching files, clicking withmouse etc
From: sven at thep.lu.se

Package: kdevelop
Version: 2.0.2 (using KDE 2.2.2 )
Severity: normal
Installed from: RedHat RPMs
Compiler: Not Specified
OS: Linux
OS/Compiler notes: Not Specified

Kdevelop is painfully slow when switching between files. It can take UP TO A MINUTE to switch between files. I am not sure if this really is a kdevelop bug or rather the KDE librariies. Since I use KDE 2.2.2 also other applications are pretty slow. However, kdevelop is now non-usable.

In the trace one sees
select(0, NULL, NULL, NULL, {0, 50000}) = 0 (Timeout)
ioctl(3, FIONREAD, [0]) = 0
gettimeofday({1013351162, 394398}, NULL) = 0
select(0, NULL, NULL, NULL, {0, 50000}) = 0 (Timeout)
ioctl(3, FIONREAD, [0]) = 0

kdevelop (or the libraries) EXPLICITLY ask for a sleep ! And it does it a couple of 100 times ? Why that ?

Please help, I can not work anymore .

Sven
