Hey,

everytime you restore a backup of akonadidata you should stop akonadi before, 
if you are loggen in as user:

$ akonadictl stop
<restore backup>
$akonadictl start

the atvantage to start/stop akonadi by terminal is that you see akonadi output 
and if akonadi is happy.

Also a trick to get the output to the console:

akonadictl restart
