So how do you make sure there is only one session running?

We have scientists here, often changing from one work place to another, 
labs and so on, so keeping sessions open is pretty comfortable.

I'd already be glad if we could use kdepim *without* akonadi.

As it looks like atm, we have to choose between the option of only 
switching the pim or completely switching the DE.

Oh boy, what a bummer.
