That answers where the folders live, for which thanks.

I didn't refine the query sufficiently. The problem is that I have yet to 
find how to select more than a single line in the folder contents, or for 
that matter, in the message-list window. In other OSes, it is to hold down 
the mouse button while moving the mouse over the region to be selected. 
That doesn't work in Linux. That is why "GROUPS" is in caps.
