I "solved" this by renaming ~/.local/share/akonadi/search_db to
~/.local/share/akonadi/search_db.bad as suggested in
https://linux.debian.user.german.narkive.com/BXFXGrPF/kmail-zeigt-keine-mails-mehr-an#post11.
