I vote for re-opening this bug, as I have the same problem as Nick in comment
#39: I can create a new top-level folder in my IMAP account (on dovecot) via
the akonadi console, but not via kmail/kontakt (Kontact Version 4.14.6, Kmail
version 4.14.6, Kubuntu 15.04). After creating a new folder via akonadi
console, it immediately appears in kmail. So there is a workaround, but it is a
bit frustrating.
